Hugh De Baildon

Son of Richard and Maude , born 1155-60. Married Margery de PooIe, daughter of Serlo de Poole. Five children, of whom Serlo was an outlaw and crushed to death on a millwheel, and AIen, who was Chaplain of Baildon. He was the first to take the name of De Baildon.

Adam de Baildon

Son of Henry and Alice . Born 1285. Killed at the siege of Calais in 1347. Three sons. He served the Earl of Lancaster in his rebellion at Ightenhill in 1323. Was Sergeant at Otley Manor. Was imprisoned for assault and robbery and granted land at Bolton Priory in 1346.

John De Baildon

Son of Adam . Born 1320, died 1366. Married daughter of William Vavasour. Had seven children of whom Adam Jr. Was Vicar at Yedyngham in 1392 and Mauger was Prior of the Order of St. Marys at Carmel York in 1387. He was an English archer and his name appears on three Army rolls.

Son of William and Margaret . Born between 1365-70, died Jan 4, 1437. Married Joan de Plumpton, daughter of Sir Robert Plumpton. Two children. He killed his wife in 1411 and killed a serf, Hugh Walker and was pardoned by the King on Apri14, 1414.

Son of Walter . Born 1468-9. Died at Doncaster Dec. 22, 1526. Married:

  2. Mary Copley of Doncaster.
  3. Daughter of Sir Thomas Mauleverer. Seven Children.
He was an Inquisitor at the Inquisition at York Castle 1490. Attorney at Knaresboro. Admitted a member of the Guild of Corpus Christi at York 1517 and Mayor of Doncaster I 521.

Robert Baildon

Son of John. Born 1496, died 1558. Married Margaret Mirfield 1518. Two children. He served King Henry as Groom of the Chamber 1518-9. Was an attendant on King Henry and Queen Catherine at the meeting with Francis the First of France on the Field of the Cloth of Gold at Guises 1529-30. Was an Archer "horsed and harnessed" at Wyke 1539.

George Baildon

Son of Robert and Margaret . Born 1520. died 1588 at Kippax York. Married Anne Folkingham. Four children.

Son of George and Anne , Born 1560, died June 20, 1622 at Monck Friaton, Married:
  1. Francis Johnson who died May 21, 1587.
  2. Margaret Goodrich who died Sept. 22, 1598.
  3. Isabel Tyrwhit who died March 9, 1610.
  4. Anna Colby who survived him.
Nine children of whom Cuthbert was Leutenant and Martin Major of the 67th troop of Horse of which Oliver Cromwell was Captain, He was Sherriff of Kippax 1588 and was knighted at the Coronation of James First at Whitshall July 23, 1603.

Son of Sir Francis and Margaret. Born May 26, 1591, died in 1655 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Children

He took the oath of allegiance to the King, March 26, 1613 and served in the Low Countries at the seige of Breda, Holland under Sir George Blundell. He came to America in 1641.

John Belding

Son of Richard . Born 1631 in Kipplx, Yorkshire. Married April 24, 1657 to Lydia Standish, daughter of Thomas Standish. Died June 27, 1677 in the Pequot War 1657, and held many offices of trust in his community. He left an estate of £5000.

Son of John and Lydia . Born Jan 3, 1665 in Wethersfield, Connecticutt. Founder of the New London family. Married on Jan. 14, 1685 to Hannah Handy, daughter of Richard Handy. Died Dec. 27, 1758 in Wethersfield, Connecticut!. Had nine children.

Son of Orin and Adeline . Born Jan. 17, 1890 at Binghamton, N. Y. Married Zepha Ilene Adams, April 16, 1911 in Farwell, Michigan. Two sons, Orin Charles (Omer) and Marion Adams . Died June 25, 1949 at Flint, Mich. He was a printer and taught printing at Central High School, Flint, Michigan. She worked in printing offices.

Marion Adams Beldin

Son of Charles Elias and Zepha. Born Feb. 3, 1914 in Honor, Hichigan. Married Esther Mae Griswold , Sep. 4, 1936 in Genesee County, Michigan. Two sons: Richard Allen and Charles Edwin. He was an Industrial Engineer for General Motors Corp. (AC Spark Plug Division) and she was a Social Worker, Social Work Supervisor, and School Teacher. They moved after retirement to North Fort Myers, Florida in 1972. Subsequently they moved to Fort Myers proper. Died October 6, 2004. Esther Beldin moved to Atlanta, Georgia

Richard Allen Beldin

Son of Marion and Esther . Born Aug. 29, 1937 in Flint, Michigan. Married Julie Quiñones-Arias May 16, 1959 in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico. Two sons: Ricardo Antonio and John Allen . He obtained his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan. He taught at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich., University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras and Mayagüez campuses. He worked as an industrial statistician for 17 years at Digital Equipment Corporation in Puerto Rico and Massachusetts. She was a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, a Social Worker, and an artist.

Son of Richard and Julie. Born May 18, 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Married Heidi Goldstein, Aug. 28, 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia. Studied at Michigan State University, Florida Institute of Technology, and Florida Atlantic University earning an Associate of Science degree, a bachelors and masters degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a consulting environmental engineer in Africa and Central America and she worked as an actuary. They settled in Paris, France for several years.
