This plantation style house was nicknamed Casa Grande. At the time it held
living quarters for volunteers (males downstairs and females upstairs), the
office, kitchen and dining room, and the clinic laboratory (seen through the
open dutch door in the lower story). The upstairs balcony opened onto the
common living room. Casa Grande was replaced in 1958 by a concrete
administration building which has undergone several facelifts since then.
Today, it houses an auditorium, administrative offices, and two cafeterias with
their respective kitchens.
