The local environment

The project was built on an abandoned farm on the north bank of the Rio Grande
de Añasco which is the boundary between the municipalities of San Sebastian and
Las Marías. The river valley cuts through hilly terrain so that you always must
move upwards as you leave the project in any direction (except floating
downstream on the river, which some volunteers ventured to do occasionally).
