Why I am a Humanist
Richard A.
Beldin
, Ph.D.
-
A rationale:
-
-
Since God is unknowable by man,
-
and His attributes are a mystery,
-
and many are afflicted by delusiones of Him,
-
and much evil is done by those who abuse His name,
-
and no one benefits from vain words of Him,
-
I refuse to affirm or deny or even discuss His existence or reality.
-
Of Jesus's two great commandments:
-
-
Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart
-
and your neighbor as yourself,
-
I hold the second as my only ideal
-
for I know not how to do the first.
